What channel is Dodgers vs. Giants on today? Time, TV schedule for the 2021 NLDS Game 5

They’re the two second-most magical words in sports: Game 5.

The Dodgers and the Giants took 162 games to decide who would come who with the NL West, and on Thursday night, the Los Angeles-San Francisco feud comes to a definitive end in 2021 as the teams meet in San Fran for a winner-take-all Game 5.

Los Angeles turns to Julio Urias for his second start in the NLDS, throwing five innings of one-run ball in Game 2, which the Dodgers would go on to win 9-2. On the other side, the Giants turn to Logan Webb, who looks to continue his breakout season: Webb threw a monster Game 1, pitching 7 2/3 innings of shutout baseball in the shutout win.

MORE: 2021 MLB playoff bracket

The Dodgers’ offense has been wishy-washy this postseason: They were shutout twice in four games vs. the Giants, with the bats waking up for 16 runs total in their two wins.

Los Angeles will hope for one more day where the bats look alive, while San Francisco hopes that the 24th meeting between the bitter rivals in 2021 will turn in their favor.

What channel is Texas vs. Oklahoma on today? Time, TV schedule for 2021 Red River Rivalry game

Once again, the Red River Showdown between Texas and Oklahoma will likely determine at least one of the participants of the Big 12 championship game — perhaps for the last time.

It’s no secret the Longhorns and Sooners are jumping ship, as their announced defection to the SEC over the summer quickly became the college football storyline of the offseason, spurring renewed conference realignment battles and dwarfing talks of NIL deals and an expanded College Football Playoff.

Now, here’s hoping the game is as entertaining as the storylines these teams have created.

BENDER: Will Bijan Robinson channel past Horns’ Heisman winners in Red River Showdown?

No. 6 Oklahoma is the betting favorite heading into this one, boasting an undefeated, 5-0 record and top 10 ranking by the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll. But the Sooners haven’t looked anything like world-beaters, fighting to four wins of only one possession over Tulane — which played as the home team in Norman after getting displaced by Hurricane Ida — Nebraska, West Virginia and Kansas State. Their only win that didn’t follow that formula was against FCS opponent Western Carolina in a 76-0 slaughter.

Spencer Rattler has played well enough, but looks nothing like the Heisman Trophy front runner people expected before the start of the season. He has completed 122 of 160 passes (76.3 percent) for 1,260 yards and 10 touchdowns to four interceptions. Still, he has only passed for multiple touchdowns in two games all season, against Western Carolina (five) and Kansas State (two). He’ll need to have a big game on Saturday, and will need some additional help from running back Kennedy Brooks: The fifth-year running back has yet to eclipse the 100-yard mark in a game this season, but has an impressive 5.9 yards-per-carry average en route to 318 yards and four scores.

Conversely, look for No. 21 Texas’ offense to run through running back Bijan Robinson, who ranks first nationally in yards from scrimmage (819), second in rushing yards (652) and has seven rushing touchdowns on top of an absurd 6.2 yards-per-carry average. Don’t overlook quarterback Casey Thompson, either; the son of former Oklahoma quarterback Charles Thompson has 707 passing yards and nine touchdowns to three interceptions this year. The Longhorns can’t afford another loss this year after getting hammered by Arkansas 40-21 in Week 2.

WIth that, Sporting News breaks down how to watch the Red River Showdown between No. 21 Texas and No. 6 Oklahoma in Dallas:

What channel is Formula 1 on today? TV schedule, start time for 2021 Turkish Grand Prix

You live and you learn, Lando.

The grand prix in Mother Russia came down to Mother Nature, with Lewis Hamilton sneaking in behind a spinning-out Lando Norris to take the win in Sochi.

The result was a sour one for young Lando, who tried weathering the elements to take home the checkered flag. Unfortunately, the rain-soaked track had other plans, and the McLaren driver spun out and off it.

Now, with driver’s championship leaders Hamilton and Max Verstappen separated by a measly two points — 246.5-244.5 — and the schedule thinning, Norris’ bid for a third-place finish in the 2021 championship race is going to be a bit more difficult than he may have figured earlier in the season.

His quest, though, continues in Turkey this weekend.

What channel is Cardinals vs. Dodgers on today? Time, TV schedule for the 2021 NL wild-card game

The two teams in the NL wild card could not have arrived in the postseason any differently.

The Dodgers entered the season as preseason World Series favorites as reigning champions, and with a stacked team. They found themselves trailing the Giants in the NL West standings most of the season, and were confirmed for the wild card game on game 162, when the Giants clinched the division. They enter the postseason with the second-most wins in baseball at 106.

The Cardinals, on the other hand, seemed to be out of the postseason picture. On Sept. 7, Fangraphs gave them a 2.8 percent chance of reaching the playoffs. Then the Cardinals won 17 straight games and wound up running away with the second wild card spot.

MORE: 2021 MLB playoff bracket

These teams do have one thing in common: old starting pitchers. The Cardinals are starting 40-year-old veteran Adam Wainwright, who finished his first full season by closing the series-clinching games in the 2006 World Series. He has had a major resurgence over the past two seasons, as he had a 3.15 ERA in 2020 and a 3.05 ERA in 2021, the first two seasons he has had full season ERAs below 4.00 since 2014.

Los Angeles will turn to 37-year-old Max Scherzer, who has made himself a Cy Young front-runner since he was acquired midseason from the Nationals. He has a 2.46 ERA in 179.1 innings this season, including a 1.98 mark in 68.1 innings since he joined the Dodgers.
