COVID-19 case numbers from around Australia’s states and territories

Here’s a quick wrap of each Australian jurisdiction’s latest COVID-19 statistics today — Monday, July 25.

Victoria

There has been no deaths from COVID-19 in the latest reporting period.

There are 855 cases in hospital, with 35 of those in intensive care and 10 requiring ventilation.

There were 10,261 new cases reported today.

NSW

The state has recorded seven more COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 2,329 cases in hospital, with 58 of those in intensive care. 

There were 10,769 new cases announced today.

Tasmania

Tasmania has recorded two new COVID-related deaths: a man in his 40s and a man in his late 70s.

There are 1,025 new cases, with two patients in intensive care and 183 in hospital.

Northern Territory

There have been no deaths reported in the Northern Territory today.

Seventy people with COVID-19 are in hospital, one of whom is in intensive care.

There were 334 new cases reported today.

Queensland

The state has recorded 6,109 new cases today.

There are 1,024 people in hospital and 28 in intensive care.

The number of people who have died is not reported on Saturday and Sunday.

ACT

The ACT has recorded another 790 COVID-19 cases since 8pm yesterday.

There are currently 162 people in hospital, with one of those patients in intensive care.

There are currently 5,849 active COVID cases in the territory.

South Australia

The number of COVID-19 related hospitalisations in South Australia has again hit a new record – with 384 people now in hospital.

SA Health has also recorded another 19 deaths, though the figure includes some previously unreported cases dating back to February.

There were 3,363 new cases reported today and there are currently 27,506 active cases in SA.

Western Australia

Today’s report includes four new deaths dating back to July 19.

There are 432 people in hospital and 24 in intensive care.

A total of 3,856 cases have been reported today.
