Xbox Game Pass is Losing 4 Games Today

Microsoft’s popular Xbox Game Pass subscription service is losing four games today, including a well-received sports title.

Just like other subscription services, Xbox Game Pass removes content from its lineup from time to time. The good news is that Xbox Game Pass subscribers usually have at least a two weeks notice before anything is removed, giving them plenty of time to check the games out while they’re still available. And if they want access to the games after their removal date, subscribers can buy them to keep at a discounted price.

Besides some rare exceptions, games are removed from Xbox Game Pass on the 15th of every month, with another batch usually removed on the last day of the month as well. It’s now April 15, which means that today is the last day that Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play some of the games on the service. In total, four games are leaving Xbox Game Pass after today, and another is going to be removed early next week.

The four games leaving Xbox Game Pass today are MLB The Show 21, Pathway, Rain On Your Parade, and The Long Dark. Out of these, the highest profile is definitely MLB The Show 21, as it was the first time that a PlayStation-published title released as a day one Xbox Game Pass game.

  • MLB The Show 21 – April 15
  • Pathway – April 15
  • Rain On Your Parade – April 15
  • The Long Dark – April 15
  • F1 2019 – April 18

April 15 marks the last day that Xbox Game Pass subscribers can check out the aforementioned four games through their subscription, but April 18 will see another game removed from the lineup. April 18 is the last day that Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play the racing game F1 2019. F1 2019 earned mostly positive reviews from critics, so it’s definitely a bummer to see it go, but it’s not all bad news.

While some Xbox Game Pass subscribers may be disappointed that games like F1 2019 and MLB The Show 21 are being removed, the good news is that they have been replaced by newer installments in their respective series. MLB The Show 22 was added to Xbox Game Pass as a day one game earlier this month, while F1 2021 was added last month. The only caveat with F1 2021, though, is that it’s only available to those who are signed up for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, as it was added to the service through EA Play.

Fans should keep in mind that this is by no means a comprehensive list of all the games leaving Xbox Game Pass in April 2022. As previously stated, Microsoft tends to remove another batch of games at the end of the month. They haven’t been revealed yet, but chances are the announcement will come sooner rather than later.
